15Oct18: Social Day

It was a good Monday, I think. Went to Kit’s D&D at Oasis Games, then came home with Kit and had Daz and Varick over for some social time. Kit and Daz worked on Kit’s character sheet for the Saturday Game Daz wants to get going eventually, and Varick and I chatted while frozen pizzas baked. Got my languages and 250 words after they left too.

14Oct18: Exhaustion Sunday

For all that it was an exhaustion day, Sunday was productive. Yes, I went to bed, but I laid awake talking into my CPAPSu mask for 3 hours so finally gave up and got out of bed. Before going to bed, I watched a movie with my friend Daz, too.

After trying to sleep, I did my languages, wrote notes for a new idea, sorted my pills, got my 250 words, went to Lynn’s D&D, and watched a movie with Varick. After that, I read a couple of my incomplete wips then hit the sack. I’m glad the day was productive.

8Oct18: Unintentional Exhaustion and Movies

Though I went to bed Sunday night, I didn’t sleep, so I gave up and got out of bed. Did some brainstorming on DH04-06 and made more progress on the books than I have in years. Also did some D&D prep

My friend Varick came over to watch Clue and we watched another movie after. Then I gently chased him out so I could get some things done—and proceeded not to do them. No writing, no more work on my writing. I’m counting my brainstorming as my writing work for the day. It took about as long as my 250 words usually do. Read through a completed story, then went to bed around 22:30.

7Oct18: A Movie Night at Last!

Sunday started with a trip to get groceries with my friend Ross. After that, Lynn’s D&D from noon until 16:00; pretty much everyone else in the group finally leveled up after we discovered some major discrepancies in XP. Varick joined me, Daz, and Kit for a chat at Oasis while waiting for Kit’s ride, then the rest of us came back home. I got my Duolingo lessons in while Daz and Varick stopped at Daz’s place to drop off Daz’s gaming things. I wanted to write, but had no time.

But we finally got a movie night in!

It took us three weeks to find a site that offered the first Captain America movie, not to mention cancellations for a couple of other reasons. It was good to sit down with Daz and Varick to watch the movie we’d been looking forward to seeing for so long. Afterward, we sat chatting for a bit, petting and playing with Hendrix. I hated to see them go, but Varick had to start home so he wouldn’t miss the last train. After going to see him off and checking on Inara, Daz came back up and we made a cooperative meal and watched Little Shop of Horrors, which he had not seen before. We had some good laughs over how corny and campy the movie is, then Daz skedaddled after because he wanted to get some sleep.

So, all in all, a good day!

Games Galore!

Xylorian's Dice!

Dice for playing Xylorian.

Well, the past couple days have been full of games. That was all I did Sunday, aside from some phone calls, reading of incomplete projects, and hanging out with Daz. He and I spent a few hours after midnight binging Forensic Files via Rabbit because he was spending the night with a friend who needed help and support. After he signed off to nap, I idled in chats and called my mom, then, at around 11:15, after a brief text chat with him, I headed down to Oasis for Lynn’s D&D. Luckily, the full complement of players was present, including an old college friend of Kit’s. She fit right in with us and Lynn had her roll for all the NPC characters when we got into encounters.

I came home, exhausted because I hadn’t slept at all due to not putting myself to bed after taking my night meds the night before. Daz picked up his cat, then went home to sleep. I stayed up, again reading incomplete projects. Daz got up around 22:00 or so, I think, and we hung out for a while longer before we mutually agreed to walk to Oasis together on Monday and we said farewell. I promptly went to bed and slept like a log through the night.

And then I was up by 10:00 to go to Oasis for Kit’s D&D. Just after I got my computer fired up, Daz texted me asking if I’d like to have breakfast out, and I said “yes.” We went to Smith’s down the road, and we both got sushi. He wanted to eat it there, but by this time it was 10:35, and I knew if we had to wait for the train, we’d be cutting it close, so I said we should take it with us. Daz packed it into a bag and we headed out to the train—and got there just as it arrived, saving us a fifteen minute wait and the possibility of being late to game. We actually arrived with about ten or so minutes to spare.

Game went really well, and we met Daz’s character early in the session. Afterward, we hung out with Kit while his mother, who’s been playing with us the past several sessions, took Cayden to the train. When Kit’s mom returned to pick him up, Daz and I headed home together with another friend of his who’d come to meet him at the store. All of us had a meal at the Apollo Burger downstairs, then we hopped on a train to go to game night with Christian, Stephanie, Patrick, and Varick.

Again, we played Cards Against Humanity, to hilarious results. I managed to get eight cards, but Varick won. Over the course of that game, we had hot pockets (it ran until after midnight again). Varick left early to meet with another friend when we finished that, then we played King of Tokyo, which Christian won. A roommate of Christian and Stephanie’s drove me, Daz, and Diana (spelling could be wrong) home. Daz and I stayed up together for a little while longer—he’s a magician and he did some card tricks, then he taught me another new game. He went home around 05:30.
